The Minnesota Women's Action Plan provides background information, key facts, current action, and contact information for follow-up action on each of the Houston Plan issues. It also includes information for the Beijing 1995 Platform adopted at the United Nations World Conference, with many overlapping issues and a more global awareness. In addition, the Action Plan includes several issues not formulated separately in 1977 but naturally growing out of that early work: child support, special health concerns such as HIV/AIDS, equal opportunities in athletics, elder abuse and prostitution and trafficking.

Silent Witness National Initiative
Twenty years ago a group of women began promoting an end to domestic violence by creating red,
life size figures depicting the thirty Minnesota women murdered in acts of domestic violence in 1990. Since their creation, the figures have traveled with Shelia Wellstone to the nation's Capitol Rotunda and have inspired the creation of more figures in many Minnesota communities as well as almost every state in the U.S. and eighteen countries.
The Minnesota Women's Consortium is honored to house and coordinate the Slient Witnesses in Minnesota. Displaying all thirty Witnesses makes a powerful and moving statement but smaller displays are possible. To schedule an exhibit in Minnesota contact Lorraine.
