Referrals for our readers ages 17 to 76! (And may well be relevant to others also.)
As we have been informing you about several generational projects of the Minnesota Women's Consortium - Girls Rock! the Capitol, College Feminists Connect, and ElderNomics - we realize there are many, many women who need other connections. If you are finishing up high school but possibly not going to college, finished college but not yet anywhere near your personal definition of an "elder" or "older woman" - or even if you DO fall into those categories - there are helpful resources for you among our 160+ member groups.
Some of the questions we receive most often: finding a job, improving one's pay, what recourse is there for unfair employment situations, and needing emergency housing after domestic violence and other family crises. The Consortium does not provide any direct services but refers to our member groups who provide many of these services. Here are a few of those to whom we most often refer. We will try to post additional resources here from time to time. It's often helpful to simply browse the list of all member groups on our website - either alphabetically or by function.
